Greetings from Melbourne!

You may mow download and listen to Sounds on Shortwave No. 1, a selection of shortwave signals monitored on Wednesday March 10, 2010.

The monitoring site was at Sweeney’s Flats, a bushland reserve on the Yarra River, at the outer Melbourne suburb of Eltham, 30 km from downtown. See the image above!

The receiver was the little E5, with 5 metres of random antenna.

The recordings were made on a Nokia mobile phone as .AMR files, then converted into .MP3s, and edited with the Wavepad audio software.

Enjoy the introductory and closing Australian music from the Band of the Royal Australian Navy!
